Halloween Costume Gothic Vixen Pirate Wench

Vixen Pirate wench with velvet double lace up corset dress.

I remember growing up as a kid and counting down the last days of school until summer holidays! I loved summer vocation, it was a time to go to the beach and swim all day long, play in the sand, go bike riding, roller blading, playing cricket at the park and staying outside playing till late as the sunset.

However times have changed today, with the increase of technology in our fast paced society, many kids are more likely to want to hang out at home and play indoors with their computer or watch TV. Whilst these activities may be fun, it is also important that kids spend time during the summer holidays having fun outside with their friends being active.

Here are some Fun Holiday Activities kids can play this summer!

- Sports and Games:
Backyard cricket, beach volleyball, handball, shooting hoops in a basketball ring, bike riding, swimming at the pool or beach, surfing, snorkeling, bowling, skateboarding, Frisbee, tip, ball games, kite flying.

- Join Together:
Get together with another family and enjoy games and a picnic at the park. Bring along some tennis balls and a cricket bat and have a game of cricket or play a game of mini-Olympics. Join together and form countries in your teams and choose different sports or events you like from the Olympics such as athletics - shot put (use a tennis ball instead of a real shot put), discus (use a Frisbee instead of a real discus), relays (run from one spot to another and tip the next person in line).

- Join a local kids club or sports camp:
Kids Club and Sports Camps are great for kids during the school holiday period, as they interact socially with other children and learn a variety of different activities and skills. When selecting a sports camp ensure to select a sport that your child is interested in, so they will be excited about attending the camp.

SUN CARE REMINDER: It does get hot in the summer, so when your kids are going outside they need to wear a hat and sunscreen. It is also important that they stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. A good idea is to have a water bottle with their favourite cartoon character on it (filled with water) which they can carry around with them especially when they go outdoors to play.

Import Beer Girl Costume W/Lace Up Front Apron Dress

December 31st is the day we celebrate New Year's Eve, but that wasn't always the calendar day it was celebrated in years past. Some 4,000 years ago, the Babylonians celebrated the beginning of the New Year following the first crescent moon after the first day of Spring in honor of the earth being "reborn" following the winter months. We celebrate one day in honor of the New Year arriving, but the Babylonians' celebration lasted for eleven days! Even though our special events and parties probably pale in comparison to the Babylonian celebrations, your New Year's Eve party can be sparkling, beautiful, and memorable when you decorate with lights.

Appetizers are great for New Year's Eve parties so guests can mingle and visit with everyone in attendance. Use white mini LED light sets or battery operated light packs along with champagne glasses, black top hats, lots of curly ribbon in colors of silver and gold, confetti, candles, and glitter on the appetizer table for a great presentation of your finger foods and drinks.

Are you and your guests planning to watch the ball drop on television? Surround your television with mini light sets, streamers and curly ribbon since it will be a focal point during the ball drop and possibly for some of the broadcasted festivities following the arrival of the New Year.

If you have a large room where you'll be celebrating, such as a living room, great room, banquet room, or reception hall, use several light sets on the ceiling. String them from a focal point in the middle of the room, suspending them with clear wire all the way to the corners of the room and in between. The ceiling centerpiece could be sparkling stars, moons, and streamers hanging down at varying intervals from the ceiling.

Welcome your guests by using Christmas light stakes to suspend traditional C7 or C9 traditional or LED lights along your driveway and walkway. Your friends will be in a festive mood before they knock on your door!

Battery operated lights add sparkle to any party hat, so consider adding them to your glittery party hat and make a real statement.

Balloons, streamers, and lights are a given at a great party, so use them liberally in your hallway, powder rooms, kitchen, dining area, basement, or any other room in which your guests will congregate.

A themed New Year's Eve party would be a big hit with your guests. Some popular themes for this holiday might include a Roaring 20's theme, a Black Tie event, a luau, an 80's or 50's theme, or an all American theme. No matter which theme and color scheme you choose, there are a wide variety of colorful mini lights to compliment or match your New Year's Eve party decorations.

Is the Christmas tree still standing? Leave the light sets on the tree and replace your Christmas ornaments with New Year's style decorations that either match or compliment your party theme or in a traditional style. Clear mini lights or warm white mini LED lights are the perfect backdrop for glittering stars, fancy top hats, and bulbs.

New Year's Eve gives us a reason to celebrate the coming year and to enjoy family and friends at the same time. Our mini lights, battery operated LED light sets, and our shaped lights offer a great variety of decorating options when it comes to bringing light, elegance, or whimsy to your New Year's Eve celebration.

Did you ever look in the windows of those grand department stores and wonder how they got their Christmas trees to look so perfect?

It's not nearly as difficult as it looks. And I'll share the secret here.

1. The tree - not that it matters a whole lot what the tree is, but my favorite tree is the fat rounded kind with branches that allow a bit of space between, but not so much that you can see through them. I love the smell of fresh pine. But in my particular case, with an allergy to pine, I find the most adorable fake tree I can find and make it look as much like a real tree as possible. I've even been known to tie pinecones to the branches as I wrap them with lights to make the tree appear more realistic.

2. The lights - Whatever kind of lights you choose, get enough to cover the tree well, but if you are going to add ornaments, you need less lights and more sparkle. I like to bury the lights just a bit inside the branches, so I add the lights as I put up the branches a couple of rounds per layer, so there's some depth to the tree, a few glowing lights hidden inside the branches. Wrapping the lights into the branches as you assemble the tree is great for a fake tree, but a real tree needs to have lights buried just inside the branches so you can stll see the ends of each light.

3. The garland - garland offers color and style to the tree. Add a garland that compliments your tree decorating style. After the lights are on, the tree is up, walk around the tree with the garland in your hand and drop generous swags of garland between the branches of the tree, allowing them to fall freely and gracefully. My favorite garlands are thin ribbon with a nice satin sheen to reflect the lights, beads, or for a natural look, some popcorn and dried berries strung on a thread. Jute or hemp lengths tied into loose bows at junctions make a nice natural drape on your natural or southwestern style tree.

4. The ornaments - A wide variety of ornaments depicting a specific theme work very well. My ornaments are mostly gold and white with some dark red or Christmas red and Navy blue thrown in for accent. I have angels, drummer boys, toy soldiers, glass orbs, stars, sleighs, a rocking horse or two, some crystal bells with carved ornaments inside, and some crystal ornaments with imprints of the nativity. When I look for ornaments, I look for things that say "Christmas" to me, and fit in the color scheme I've chosen for my tree.

Occasionally, my kids get the better of me and we use colored lights instead of white lights on the tree. Those years, anything goes on the tree branches, and we've done everything from stuffed animals and hot wheels cars hung in the tree to paper ornaments cut out of colored paper. Spirals, paper chains, and glued ornaments with glitter all go in our collection.

5. The topper - Whatever you want to put on top of your tree - make sure it's big enough to be seen. Our tree usually gets an angel or a star. I have a selection. My tree is 7 feet tall, and my star is well over a foot tall. My angel on the other hand is not so big, because she's always competing with the angels on the tree - so she can't be too huge.

If it's a color year, we make a new star out of colored paper or fabric and attach all kinds of shinys to it with glue. Last year, we had a bright yellow star with silver glitter and gold braid along the edges of a six pointed Star of David. It was awesome.

6. The tree skirt - Under it all you need something to hold the packages, and the finish it off. I have a white braid and ribbon skirt this year. It started out as a circle of cloth and I was just stitching some ribbon along the edge - I ended up with layers of ribbon spreading out around the base of my tree. The best part is, I don't have to put many presents under a tree that has a great skirt.

I've found a great adornment for my Christmas tree is a nativity that I can set under the edge of the branches, in plain sight. The star on top is a special touch - and the boughs of the evergreen protect it. Everyone notices the nativity under the tree, and I have a special place where children look and ask questions, so I can tell them the story of Jesus birth.

Of course, there's another nativity on an end table, another in my dining room, and another in each of the bedrooms, because I love nativities.

After all, what is Christmas all about?

Merry Christmas!

Dog Costume - Li'l Stinker Dog Skunk Halloween Costume - Small

LITTLE STINKER PET COSTUME: Even if your dog is wearing plenty of doggy cologne, Your friends and neigbors will do a double-take when your pet is wearing our Little Stinker Costume. Black Velvet fabric stands out and is highlighted by a classic white stripe from head to tail. Perfect for small or large dogs, this easy to fit costume is perfect for the dog who has the scent! Velcro fasteners make for an easy fit and easy on/off.
Customer Review: Cute costume! Quality....eehhh, maybe not so much. But it's only for one night.
I purchased this for my growing puppy a month ahead of time. Very cute on her, but the fit isn't perfect. For the size of dog they recommended it for, it fits lengthwise (neck to rump), but not so much width wise (around the stomach). The belt that goes around the neck and stomach area are a little big. It could use some additional velcro on the sides to hold on the somewhat oversized belt. I will probably rig something up myself. For the cost you can find it on Amazon, it's still worth the price.
Customer Review: Great costume
Very nice quality of materials and fabric used. My Pearl (Chihuahua) is going to have the best Halloween costume ever! "Forget the candy for the kids bring out the dog biscuits honey"

Dressing up for Halloween is a tradition that everyone looks forward to. As the holiday approaches, the question What are you going to be for Halloween? begins to ring in the air at home, at school, and even in the workplace. Everyone enjoys dressing up for Halloween and now you can include a costume for your pet dog or cat.

Dressing up a pet dog or cat has become increasingly popular in the last few years. Often, for security purposes, families will have their pet dog with them while trick-or-treating. So, why not dress him up for Halloween also? Dressing up for Halloween can now be for the whole family!

Collars, hats, and capes can be put on your pet dog or cat in a variety of characters. Some of the more popular costumes include Dracula, the devil, and witch apparel. These come complete with capes and headgear. Also popular are the skeleton costumes, which is a full body suit for your pet.

Your pet dog or cat could dress-up as a super-hero. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Wonder Woman are among the most popular. Other fun costumes include Star Wars characters, Raggedy Ann, and Zorro.

For those who only want to dress up their pet a little bit and do not want a full costume, there are a variety of head-dresses from which you can choose. There are trick-or-treat bandanas, Santa hats, and even pig-tails. Your pet could be Uncle Sam, or a Christmas elf with just a hat.

With such a variety, you and your pet could have matching or complimentary costumes. Since it is becoming more popular, some local stores will carry Halloween costumes for pets. You can also find pet Halloween costumes on the internet.

Halloween can be a whole new experience when your family and your family pet dress up for Halloween. I guess you could say Halloween has gone to the dogs.

Cute Infant Baby Monkey Halloween Costume, 12-18 Months

Customer Review: Photo misleading
I ordered this for a friend who specifically chose it because it appeared that the tail curled up. It did not. It was just fabric and hung straight. Quality of the costume was not so great over all. It was returned. Beware all the fine print about restocking fees!
Customer Review: Great Costume
Received right on time. Great quality, and condition. The footies were a little too small to fit over shoes.

"I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection." - Sigmund Freud.

Remember the days as a child, when you used to wait for your father to be back home in the evening? When you would jump into his arms share your days exploits with him? And how patiently he would hear to all your tales? How easily he would solve the most intricate problems? You would know his arrival by the sheer knock on the door you knew it was him. You knew him by his body odor - that soothing one that always seemed to reassure you that he was near. You knew him by his touch, his sounds, his gait you knew him by instinct.

The picture remains same. Over time and across geographical locations the picture of a child relating to his/her father remains unaltered. No matter which corner of the world you belong the facets of relationship with your father never seems to change the games you played with him in the backyard, the long drives, the values you learnt . the list is endless.

Its this universality of a father-child relationship that makes Fathers Day a global event. While dates vary across regions, so does the language of wishing your father a Happy Fathers Day.

This is how you would say Happy Fathers Day in different languages

1) Spanish - Da de padres feliz

2) Russian - Счастливый день отцов

3) Portugese - Dia de pais feliz

4) Italian - Giorno di padri felice

5) German - Glcklicher Vatertag

6) French - Jour de pres heureux

7) Dutch - De gelukkige Dag van Vaders

Although most countries celebrate Fathers Day according to the American custom, on the third Sunday of June, however there are some regions where Fathers day is celebrated on other dates. Argentina, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Zimbabwe all follow the American custom ( third Sunday of June) while Austria, Belgium and Costa Rica celebrate the event on the second Sunday of June. In the southern hemisphere Australia and New Zealand celebrate Fathers Day on the first Sunday of September. Russia celebrates the event on 23rd February while In China Fathers Day is celebrated on the 8th of August. Some countries again have a religious aspect to this event. While Iran celebrates Fathers Day according yto the Islamic calendar on 13 Rajab, Germany follows the Biblical date of Ascension Day to celebrate the event. This year ( 2007) the date was on May 17.

No matter what date the event is celebrated on, what language is used to wish the core emotion of expressing love, respect and gratitude on this day remains unchanged.

Baby Boy Infant Lion Halloween Costume

Eighteen years are usually all we have to unabashedly demonstrate to our children how much they mean to us. Though everyday should be an opportunity to love and appreciate them, birthdays give us license to truly make a child feel special. There are many ways to celebrate a child's birthday. The important thing is to find the right combination to fit your child and your family.

The first consideration is existing family traditions. Drawing upon birthday traditions from your childhood makes for a meaningful experience for the whole family. Maybe you inadvertently stumbled upon something fun and unique when your first baby began having birthdays. Continuing those activities throughout each child's youth will create strong memories and lasting bonds.

The next thing to consider for creating a happy birthday is food. Because some of our happiest moments together as a family are spent around a table, meals should be given some extra attention on a birthday. For breakfast, go beyond the ordinary cereal or toast and make some muffins the day before or make your family's favorite banana pancakes with whipped cream smiley faces on the birthday morning. For lunch on a school day, include a note or a special treat in your child's lunchbox. In the summertime, plan a picnic lunch in a favorite spot. Dinner should be the birthday honoree's choice: a favorite home cooked meal or a favorite restaurant. On the theme of food, one very important part of a birthday celebration is the cake. Whether you bake a cake from scratch or from a box or buy it from a local baker, nothing says birthday like a cake with candles all aglow.

Another consideration when planning a special birthday is to choose an event. For some people that means a party complete with guests, games, and grub. Parties are an excellent way to share a birthday with friends and extended family. You can plan a party at home or at a location that caters to birthday crowds. For others, a more intimate, less busy way to celebrate a birthday is to do something either familiar or out of the ordinary. Maybe bowling is a favorite pastime and the birthday boy can't think of a better way to celebrate than to do something that everyone loves. Maybe your birthday girl has always wanted to visit the science museum. Birthdays are a chance to get to do something special.

The final consideration for a child's birthday is presents. Do you have a budget? Do you try to stick to a certain number of gifts in order to make it fair and consistent? What does your child really want? The investment of time and planning that you put toward the tradition of gift giving will more than payoff in the face of your young loved one.

None of these suggestions are the be all and end all of birthdays. The most important consideration is that your child is reminded that on this day, however many years ago, he or she brought to your life the true happiness that comes with getting to watch a child grow. And it is that life that must be celebrated.

Decorating your table for Christmas can be as simple or as elaborate as you want to make it. But, there is one primary secret to Christmas table decorations you should always follow.

By adhering to this simple secret it will make your table dcor far more appealing while at the same time making your job easier. By ignoring this concept your table-decorating plan can completely fall apart.

So whats the secret? Well its simple. All you have to do is decide upon a specific color theme and design theme, then stick to it.

Let me explain

Do you want a particular color or colors? People, who especially love Christmas, still rely on the old stand-bys. I will admit that red, green, white, gold and silver are still my favorites and probably always will be.

Perhaps youre in the mood for a wintery look. Simple. Just use white, blue, light shades of purple and youre on your way. Along with candles you can add ornamental snowflakes, little snowmen, or strands of clear beads or snowy white garlands.

If you have a color scheme in your home that you would like to play off of, then that can make it even simpler. You can always find candles, ribbons, napkins, beads, etc. online or at the store. Add touches of winter greenery or tiny Christmas trees to solidify the look.

A Christmas wreath laid in the center of the table can be the beginning of a perfect centerpiece. It can be decorated with any object you may want to use as a theme. If you have no theme in mind other than something special, then ribbons and bows can always come to the rescue. Inside the wreath, place a large candle or several tapers. The tapers can be the same height or differing heights. The choice is yours. Just make certain that the flames or hot wax do not come in contact with anything that could cause a fire. I was at a dinner party once where that happened. We certainly had a lively Christmas party that night!

Hurricane lanterns placed in a row down the center of the table can take the place of a traditional centerpiece. Stemware filled with beads, nuts, berries, glass marbles, or any small festive objects can be used as well. You can use themed pieces to decorate in between. Well use Christmas bells as our example of a theme. Bells can be purchased in packages or they can be purchased already strung on wire. If they are on wire, they can be wrapped around the base of the hurricane lanterns, or you can attach them to ribbon and wrap the ribbon around the lanterns. Long strands of ribbon and beads can flow around the decorations.

Continue to carry out your theme with your table napkins. Use two napkins of different colors for each place setting. Place one napkin on top of the other. You can roll them separately or roll them together, but the important thing is to tie them together. Tie them with a beautiful wired ribbon with the bell attached to the ribbon. Because wired ribbon can be shaped, it is easy to make the perfect size napkin holder. With your napkins inside your ribbon napkin holder, artfully arrange them and place them in the center of each plate. You now have bells on your napkin holders and bells on your table decorations. You can continue the theme with bells tied to the backs of chairs, hanging from the chandelier or attached to your stemware.

The idea is to repeat your color or decoration. By using a theme, your Christmas table will go from ho-hum to spectacular! Happy decorating.
