Although LED lighting options have been around for some time, this form of lighting has only recently come into the realm of Christmas lights. Part of the reason for the delay was that LED lights could not come in a wide variety of colors like traditional light strands could by simply changing the color of the glass casing. However, scientists have now made multi-colored LED Christmas lights a possibility, and the trend is catching on by leaps and bounds as people are realizing the many benefits that this specialized type of lighting can offer.

Friendly to the Environment and the Wallet

How many times have you worked yourself to the point of frustration by searching for that one burned out bulb that brings an entire strand of Christmas lights to a non-working state? How many bulbs have you stepped on and crushed in the process of trying to get those strands on your Christmas tree or the front of your house? Many times, these situations lead us to toss out a non-working strand of lights and head to the store for a new package. However, you will not have these problems with LED Christmas lights.

LED Christmas lights are better for the environment because they use electricity than regular incandescent lights. They also have a longer life expectancy, which means that you will not have to replace broken strands as often. If a single LED Christmas light goes out, it will not affect the function of the rest of the strand. And because LED Christmas lights are encased in a heavy plastic, the chances of breaking them by stepping on them are much lower.

Easier Storage

If you have ever wrestled with a tangled ball of Christmas light strands, you will appreciate the next benefit to the LED Christmas lights. Because the strands tend to be thicker and tougher, they can also be easier to store. Simply roll up the strand and keep it in a container until next year. There is no tangling, and no lights that can become loose from the rest of the strand. And chances are good that when you get your strands out the following year, the lights will all light - the first time, every time. What could be easier than that?

LED Christmas lights have successfully simplified a Christmas decorating chore that has resulted in times of frustration for many of us. They are easier to use and less expensive to light. Christmas has just gotten a whole lot easier.
