Although LED lighting options have been around for some time, this form of lighting has only recently come into the realm of Christmas lights. Part of the reason for the delay was that LED lights could not come in a wide variety of colors like traditional light strands could by simply changing the color of the glass casing. However, scientists have now made multi-colored LED Christmas lights a possibility, and the trend is catching on by leaps and bounds as people are realizing the many benefits that this specialized type of lighting can offer.

Friendly to the Environment and the Wallet

How many times have you worked yourself to the point of frustration by searching for that one burned out bulb that brings an entire strand of Christmas lights to a non-working state? How many bulbs have you stepped on and crushed in the process of trying to get those strands on your Christmas tree or the front of your house? Many times, these situations lead us to toss out a non-working strand of lights and head to the store for a new package. However, you will not have these problems with LED Christmas lights.

LED Christmas lights are better for the environment because they use electricity than regular incandescent lights. They also have a longer life expectancy, which means that you will not have to replace broken strands as often. If a single LED Christmas light goes out, it will not affect the function of the rest of the strand. And because LED Christmas lights are encased in a heavy plastic, the chances of breaking them by stepping on them are much lower.

Easier Storage

If you have ever wrestled with a tangled ball of Christmas light strands, you will appreciate the next benefit to the LED Christmas lights. Because the strands tend to be thicker and tougher, they can also be easier to store. Simply roll up the strand and keep it in a container until next year. There is no tangling, and no lights that can become loose from the rest of the strand. And chances are good that when you get your strands out the following year, the lights will all light - the first time, every time. What could be easier than that?

LED Christmas lights have successfully simplified a Christmas decorating chore that has resulted in times of frustration for many of us. They are easier to use and less expensive to light. Christmas has just gotten a whole lot easier.

Retro Groove Dress Sexy Adult Halloween Costume 60s 70s Go Go Dancer Disco Bohemian Hippie Outfit

Go-Go Vixen Dress

This Item Includes: Retro Paisley Print Keyhole Dress

{{LegAvenueSizes}}
Customer Review: Very cute- but runs small
This costume is very cute and looks just as pictured. But I'm glad I knew Halloween costumes tended to run small and this one is no exception. I am usually a size M in ladies and ordered an XL. It fit, but quite snugly. Also it is VERY short. I realize that is the style of the 70s but I had to wear a black skirt with it in order to feel comfortable. But the print is bright and fun.

May is the time to honor and thank mothers, grandmothers, and just-like-a-mom women in your circle of family and friends for all that they do in raising children. We have prepared some special Mother's Day craft gift ideas and fun Mother's Day-inspired activities to share with that special someone.

Thumbprint Note Cards

Cut a piece of paper to desired size (5 inches by 4 inches is a nice size) and fold in half. Have children place thumb or finger in a stamp pad and make 5 or 6 thumb or fingerprints on front of card. Draw stems and leaves with a green crayon or marker. Extension: Make 5 or 6 cards, tie together with a ribbon, and give as Mother's Day present.

Hugs and Kisses

Provide children each with a small wooden or cardboard box. Have them paint their box. After the box is dry, let them decorate the box with markers, stickers, sequins, glitter, etc. Next, have children shred some paper (use a variety of colors) and fill the box with it. Have them add some Hershey's Kisses, Hugs, or other candy. Finally have children attach the following poem to the box and then give it to their Mom for Mother's Day.

This is a very special box

That's just for you from me.

It's filled with hugs and kisses

So you'll always think of me.

Decorative Soap

Cut a piece of felt, decorative paper, or fabric to fit around a bar of soap. Wrap the material around the soap and glue. Let dry. Decorate the top and sides of the bar of soap with small silk flowers, ribbon, lace, sequins, beads, etc.

Heart Pendant

Mix together one cup flour, one cup warm water, one-fourth cup salt, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, one teaspoon oil, and a few drops of food coloring. Roll out dough. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes. Poke a hole at the top of the heart big enough to thread yarn or ribbon through. Let dry. Paint heart. Spread a thin layer of glue on heart and sprinkle with glitter. Add sequins or small beads if desired. Thread the yarn or ribbon. Wrap in tissue paper or gift wrap.

Mother's Day Party

Mother's Day is a great reason to have a party with family and close friends. Get everyone together for a breakfast, picnic, brunch, garden party or barbecue. When you think of your outdoor Christmas decorations this year, there's simply no denying the sheer beauty of outdoor Christmas lights, which for many, have become a perennial tradition that's taken rather seriously. Outdoor illumination, as aficionados refer to their Christmas lights and decorations, is something that takes planning and knowhow along with a touch of decorating skills in order to have the most beautiful of displays.

Where to Put All of Those Beautiful Lights?

Usually the placement of Christmas lights is purely a matter of personal preference, that along with the type of home you live in and what you have to work with in terms of the surrounding landscaping. For some people, every single surface is fair game, from the awnings, windows and doors, to the shrubs to the walkways leading to the house, while others prefer a few, solitary strands here and there, perhaps around the front door or on a single bush or tree.

If your close neighbors seem interested in having their Christmas lights visible from outer space, perhaps you should take the high road and create a subtle, but extraordinary display that will look far better than the tackier designs others may enjoy. Consider using all one color so as not to clash with the holiday kaleidoscope surrounding you, or lighting up just the front windows and door instead of the entire porch area.

Or, if you'd like to be as festive as possible and light up the night, here are a few ideas as to where to put your outdoor Christmas lights this year:

- Bushes: Bushes and shrubs are just perfect for Christmas lights of all types, including the older, larger bulb style as well as the newer, mesh kind that drapes across the object like a net and includes many lights on one set, and are also incredibly easy to put on and off.

- Free forms: Use your imagination, a few pieces of wood, a staple gun and you have the potential for creating any number of holiday related free forms out of your Christmas lights. Make your own spiral tree or buy any one of the many premade shapes, designs, and signs that are available today.

- Gutters: Rain gutters are great for attaching Christmas lights with clip-on hooks, especially if you have the type of lights that resemble icicles that hand downward. Using the clips, the lights are rather easy to put up and take down after the holidays and you'll be illuminating the entire front of the house depending on where your gutters are located.

- Trees: If you're lucky enough to have trees surrounding your home, use plenty of sets, winding the strands around the branches, even the trunks using clear or multicolored Christmas lights.

- Windows and doors: String lights around the front windows and door, inside or out, either by framing the window or creating a swag of lights at the top. Avoid putting lights all over the whole window as not only will this make it difficult to see out, but it will light up the entire room behind the window as well.

Sexy 4Pccinderella Ice Princess Halloween Costume

4Pc. Ice Princesss Incl Headband, Choker, Petticoat Dress & Gloves MEDIUM LT. BLUE

Having a fabulous Christmas party and inviting all of your family to share the holidays with you can be a lot of fun but planning such a great party might be a pretty difficult task. Before you start mailing the personalized Christmas invitations or printed Christmas Party Invitations, you may want to start thinking about some specific elements of your holiday get together.

When to Hold the Celebration

If you're sending out Christmas holiday invitation, you might assume the event should take place on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. However, that's probably not the best idea. Remember those days should be reserved for the individual families to spend time with their kids and for opening presents and for relaxing after all of that crazy Xmas shopping.

Instead, choose a nice weekend a week or two before the holidays. If you want to start a tradition, it's a good idea to pick a day that could be repeated every years so people will just begin to expect the Christmas invites to arrive and will already have planned on attending. For now, however, you'll want to send out those Christmas holiday invitations about three weeks before the event in order to give people enough time to rearrange their schedules. A good rule of thumb is to have the holiday invitations ready to hit the mailbox on the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Where to Hold the Xmas Celebrations

Choosing a location depends on several important factors:

a. How many people are going to be attending
b. What type of food are you going to be serving
c. How much stress are you willing to endure

Ideally, the online Christmas party invitations will list your home as the location for the celebration. Of course, that may not always be possible. If you simply don't have the capacity to hold the entire guest list and you don't want to shorten that list, then you might want to find another venue to put on your Xmas cards. That's also a good idea if you don't want to get stuck with all of the cooking or if you're trying to keep the event as stress-free as possible for yourself.

Other excellent venues include party rooms at restaurants, party halls at hotels and other event centers, public parks (if you live in places where the weather is nice all year long), or even local sporting areas. Some churches, banquet halls and apartment complexes may also have areas available for rent that would work well. If you do have to foot the bill for renting a place and for catering a meal, you might want to charge a small fee per person. If you do, make sure to list this on the printed Christmas invitations along with an explanation of why you've chosen to do this. Keep in mind you probably won't end up with as many guests if you do.

Final Thoughts

When you send out those exclusive Christmas invitations, make sure you're ready for the event. Be prepared to decorate for the holidays and to be in great spirits as you celebrate with those who are closest to you.

Hot Flapper Adult Halloween Costume Size Small 4-6 (B448)

Hot Flapper Adult Halloween Costume includes: Dress and headpiece.

Halloween will be here before you know it so if you haven't started thinking about costumes, you should. If you have children like myself they will need costumes to dress up for school and other area events

Why? Because it's fun. Kids love dressing up in costumes and having a reason to celebrate. Halloween is one of the most enjoyable holidays of the year as it offers all ages the opportunity to play the child, whether by donning costumes or eating the candy meant for trick-or-treaters. A fun way to celebrate the holiday is by hosting a Halloween party.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of kill joys out in the world. Therefore, you need to research area events and plan a schedule so that your children can celebrate Halloween safely.

Step 1

look for area Halloween celebrations that are safe and fun for children. Look in the newspaper, some are published on the internet. Look in your weekly free community ad paper, notices sent home by schools, and community calendars on radio website. Check with area churches to see what they are planning for Halloween.

Step 2

Decide on a schedule of activities for the week before Halloween. Many events begin a few weeks before Halloween such as haunted houses, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, hay rides, Zoo Boo, and apple picking complete with homemade apple cider. Some of these even reinforce science class information and help the children learn.

Step 3

Carve pumpkins with your children several days before Halloween. If your children are very young, let them draw the face and you cut it out. Then let them help scoop all the goo and seeds out. Don't forget to save the seeds and bake them in the oven to munch on later.

Step 4

Take your kids trick or treating. Halloween can be a very fun holiday for children. Taking them out to get candy is one of the best ways to celebrate Halloween with your children. Be careful though. Check the candy that they are given to make sure that it is safe. Most of all, be safe. Halloween is a holiday of tricks. There are many people that will be out trying to ruin the holiday for some people. Go out in groups so that you are not walking alone.
